Write /etc/systemd/system/legacyd.service for a classic double-forking daemon. In [Unit] order it after the network: After=network-online.target and Requires=network-online.target. In [Service] set Type=forking, PIDFile=/run/legacyd.pid, ExecStart=/usr/sbin/legacyd, and ExecReload=/bin/kill -HUP $MAINPID. Add [Install] WantedBy=multi-user.target.
